Concrete Finishes
Trowel Finish
Trowel finish is the most common for major concrete applications. After the concrete is laid and leveled, a trowel is used to smooth and fine-level the surface. Trowel-finished surfaces are also called "slick finish" and are not necessarily recommended in wet areas.
Broom Finish
A broom finish on concrete is a rough-textured finish obtained by dragging a broom across the troweled surface of the concrete while the concrete is still fresh. The broom creates small ridges that provide for traction and slip-resistance.
Stamped Finish
Stamped concrete is finished by pressing a selected pattern into freshly-leveled concrete. This finish provides the appearance of stone, slates or flagstones, bricks, tile or even wood grain. Stamped concrete is very popular for patios, sidewalks and edging.
Colored Finish
Colored concrete can be finised with mix-added pigment or post-cure staining to create a look that matches the surrounding design. Whichever process is used, a sealant is applied to the finished concrete to protect the surface.
Exposed Aggregate Finish
We create this unique finish by distributing aggregate evenly to the leveled concrete floor surface, then using specialized equipment to polish the top surface of the partially-cured concrete, then adding a sealant after curing.
Polished Finish
Polished finishes are created by grinding and polishing a leveled concrete surface after it has set. Chemicals along with special tools and equipment allows us to achieve different textures and levels of shine.
